Crisis Intervention

If you are a UMC student in crisis during the hours UMC's Counseling Services is Open:

1. During the school year (both numbers),. Monday-Friday 8:00am-5:30pm
2. During the summer months (Don's Only) (June, July, Mid-August) 8:00am-4:30pm

For crises on weekends, holidays, after hours, or during the summer or college breaks, please call the Northwest Mental Health Center's "24 hour Crisis Number at 1-800-282-5005. A person who dials this number after 5:00 pm or on weekends is calling Riverview Hospital. A trained health care provider at Riverview screens all calls and relays appropriate calls to a mental health professional who then gets in touch with the caller within a few moments.

Callers during normal business hours can call into the Northwest Mental Health Center and are referred to the mental health professional on call there at 1-218-281-3940.
