ACADEMIC ASSISTANCE
Library Access and Assistance
Assistance with using library resources is provided by staff of the University libraries or by staff of the Office for Students with Disabilities, depending on the type of assistance needed.
Students should contact the Office for Students with Disabilities to discuss whether or not library assistance is a reasonable accommodation. When appropriate, the Office for Students with Disabilities staff contact library personnel to arrange the accommodation. Students are expected to provide all information necessary for the retrieval of materials and to request library assistance at least two weeks prior to when the assistance will be needed. Students are responsible for fines or penalties.
Document delivery is available from the University library for students with disabilities. To utilize the service, the student must be registered with the Office for Students with Disabilities. The student must request specific materials, and the materials will be mailed to the student on- or off-campus. A fee to cover costs may be charged. When necessary, extended checkout timelines can be arranged.
Laboratory Assistants
If laboratory assistance is required, the student should inform the Office for Students with Disabilities and the faculty member responsible for the course.
Note-takers
Students who need note-taking accommodations must notify the Office for Students with Disabilities. This information will be shared with specific faculty and arrangements to obtain notes will be made.
