| GLBT MISSION

The Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender (GLBT) Programs Office is
dedicated to improving campus climate for gay, lesbian,
bisexual, and transgender people at the University of Minnesota and
to addressing the harmful effects of discrimination based
on sexual orientation and gender identification.
OUR HISTORY
In the fall of 1990, the President of the University of Minnesota
established a Select Committee to investigate the campus

The Committee found that lesbian, transgender, and gay people
at the University faced discrimination, violence, and harassment.
The committee made five recommendations, including the establishment
of the GLBT Programs Office. Founded in December 1993,
the GLBT Programs Office provides advocacy, information, referral,

building programming, and support services for the entire University
